As the title says, I need to pick the brains of the motard group.;)

My FS has a 32-89 riding sag front to back, the manuel says should as close to 90-90 as possible. Previous owner raced the bike........so i was wondering if this is a race setup or just waaayyy out of wack.
The bike handeles better than i can ride but if i can get it to handle better it may cover up some of my bad riding:D
Cheers.

Hey. Probably not the feedback you're after; I'm no expert by any means, but I thought that the manual recommendations are for if you're doing serious jumps etc... If you're just on the street and track maybe wind it back? I had my 650 at about 7 cm rear & front and it felt good... Never left the ground on it tho :p

Thanks Rich,
Thought this thread had died:(, I think the previous owner was either, heavier than me or was running harder springs in the front for racing. Found the compression damping was 3 clicks off factory specs on both forks and rebound was 12 clicks out on the right fork and 0 on the left:eek: WTF.
Reset to spec and she tends to dive a bit on hard braking so will harden up the compression a bit.
Had a look at old woodcocks road on the way over to warkworth on sat and its all GRAVEL :-k, the rear tire likes to overtake the front tire on any loose gravel but should have a set of MT60s by the w/end, $140 off TM.
Cheers Neil

Good call. There are heaps of roads off SH16/Woodcocks that I often ride past and wonder where they go... I might Google some now... Yeah, gravel is pretty average on the SuMo - I'm usually riding with my mate on his MV, so he's never keen to even take a look unless it's fully sealed... fair enuff! Can't wait to get my hands on this FS570 and start tweaking... got some new drivetrain options already. I still believe that suspension is the most bang-for-buck you can do to a bike, so keen to dial that in properly this time around - not sure who best to visit, but thinking Watson Racing in Kumeu might be a good place to visit...
