I have recently had some reworked SEM stators in for rewind but not done by me, the appearance is they have been recovered in black silicone, don't know if anybody out there has come across these before, just a run down on the quality, not good, the coils have been rewound with poor quality enameled wire and the pulse coils have been wound with the wrong wire size. All coils have been dry wound and physically burnt out and with no impregnated varnish and just taped up with pvc electrical tape. Good attempt for a DIY job though.
