Hi peeps first post on here, I have a 2003 650 that I have fitted a Vapour Trailtech speedo kit to, I have fitted the capacitive Rev sensor and would like to know the Max Safe revs under load for changing gear, I also fitted the liquid temp adapter in the rad hose coming off the water pump as I figured that would give the hottest engine temperature as it feeds up to the top of the rad, and the right hand side should be cooler as its from the bottom of the rad(physics and all that)any ideas out there?Cheers Bergerboy650.

Not had it too long I'm guessing? And I'm jealous you have a tachometer..

My 650 signs off well below the rev limiter. I've never heard it, or even come close too it.

When I say "signs off", I mean it quits accelerating and actually slows down if revved too high. When you get it hooked up, could you please let us know at what rpm it stops pulling?

If I had to guess, it's around 7,623 rpm's. Mine (2005-628) has a stock exhaust, with an open exhaust I think it makes power nearly up to the 8,400 rpm limit. Your 644 may have a slightly lower limit.

I think rev limits are covered in the owners doc.

Just don't EVER chop the throttle when revving it out. Slowly close the throttle after you break the land speed record and all will be well.

**ps,

I shift up around 3-4k starting off and then rev each gear out a little higher as I go through them, around 6-6.5k before clicking top gear.

It can handle low-ish revs at low-ish speeds. It needs to rev a little to be happy once you are pushing lots of air out of your way.

Hope that helps..
