Rev counter, 650 berg?

Just fitting a Smiths tachometer to my 04 berg, runs off a 9v battery but I'm not clear from set up instruction how to wire pick up from ignition? Instructions state "connect to contact breaker side of ignition coil"? Blue/White from coil or one of the wires from the trigger? :unsure:

I installed mine with the red wire making contact with the spade connector on the coil, and the black attached to the ground bundle, also located at the coil.

Mine was a feature of the Trail Tech Vapor, and it includes shift lights. Yeah, I think it give you good info.
