RESPRING OR WAIT

Got a 2011 570 . LOVE IT!!! Regeared, new headlight, remapped, new exhaust tip. Its the best bike I have owned. Now on to suspension. I need to re spring front and rear. I am 230, trail and desert ride- occasionally aggressively.
Here is my question(s).
1. Should I re spring front and rear now and revalve when I can afford or buy a steering stabilizer and adjust what I can.
2. If I should buy springs now what do you suggest? Brand?? Follow the manual or ???

Thanks

I would go with the re spring first and see how it goes. That's usually enough for the casual rider. Next the dampener.

52s front and a straight 90 rear would be very good I would think.

I get the best deals at a non ktm/berg dealer. He can get me anything aftermarket. What brand of spring should I get? Just curious Taffy, why not a progressive in the rear? I trust your opinion, just wondering.

well I haven't tried one yet even though my next test was too (95/111), the track conditions changed in Mid-November and anything now here in the UK would be just riding in slop so it can wait.

the (your) bike has been shimmed with a SR in mind and so I was keeping it the same. I don't know if the progressive is an improvement, I guess if someone on K-talk said it was 'the biz' I might believe them. I found that the heaviest PR at 95/111 was too light for me on the old (FE400) bike and these seem to want an even stronger spring now the shock is canted at 45d (and heavier...). I didn't boost the shim stack on that to resist better but all the same it was either light or at best with better shimming: 'ok' for my 200LB.

racetech now do a kind of PDS10 i think they call it but I haven't seen their code numbers but I think the idea is that it is even stronger than the 95/111. that might be what you want? I run a 90 (OEM but from an orange machine) at the moment and it is a little too much. an 88 by WP is what I need and then top it up with stronger shim stacks. on the front. I'm on 50s and they need many shims. 52s for you and more shims and the 90 - 52s would be a good combo.

BTW, you have to file your fork spring guides above the 48s if any of you need/want to know. they are simple to do: just spin them off the rods and stick them in the vice. I have some old body shop blades and they file down easily.

hope this helps
