The stock thumb switch on my 2002 FE501e is shorting to ground whenever the lights are turned on, killing the low beam, running light and brake light. The problem is in the switch itself which is hard sealed. The factory replacement for the switch is a complete wiring loom for $180 with the switch hard-wired in to the loom.
Per the schematic, the kill switch and horn are ground circuits and all lights are power circuits, so I was wondering if this setup is a standard and if any aftemarket or Japanese applications function using the same setup?
Short of a Husa-miracle from your collective experience, I guess I'll go to the bike graveyard and see if I can find a similar setup from a salvaged Kawazuki or something.
