Hi peeps,

Having a bit of bother removing the base/bottom from my 5018pds (04 fe450e) to replace the spring with a heavier one. I've consulted the parts manual, page 25 shows an exploded view of the lower section, However, exploding it in real life is giving me grief.

Q1. Does the "contra nut" have to be lossened in order to remove the base?
Q2. Any tricks to stopping the rest of the shock from rotating if the contra nut needs to be loosened, any special tools needed?
Q3. Or is it just meant to"pull" apart?

Any help is a help

Nevermind, I sorted it. It's amazing how we get smarter with every beer we drink us men! I'm imbarrased to have asked.

Glad you have it worked out!

If you come up dry though, don't be afraid to ask! Making some mistakes can be real expensive on a Berg.... Its much better to ask if you are not sure.

Regards,

Joe
