Hi, do i need the decomp stop nut even if i have a new decomp that doesn't use that one
i was thinking of the balance

nowt to do with balance. have it out. it's another thing to go wrong..... they are known to be 'knocked out'.

thanks taffy
do you or anyone know why some camchain wheels have more holes than other ?

i got my arse kicked (quite rightly) for this two years ago. the holes balance the auto decomp and not the cam lobes. i guess if the ADC was removed you could argue to turn the cam sprocket the other way up and then you'd be balancing the lobes instead.

statically balanced on knife edges for the 08 cam with the decomp weight swung out

felt better in a drill at 3000 but dynamic balance in the bike is what counts and may well be way way off.

the one with more holes is lighter but has worse balnce I think it would be better to remove the auto decomp altogether and cut some more holes in the sprocket, screw the balance make it lighter.
