Hi guys really hoping someone can help.
This is really targeted at the Sydney riders in OZ.
my 2011 FE390 is due for rego soon and as we know in NSW it has to be fully registered to ridr out in the bush.
Now when I bought the bike it was second hand and came with no indicators tail light horn etc..
all the wiring has been cut basically leaving a headlight and brake light.

No rather than going and try install all this stuff would anyone know of a friendly mechanic that would pass this to get rego?
It never goes on the road and only gets trailered around.

I'm happy if you PM me or get my number to contact me.
I'm in the Sydney Hills area.
Or if you have other ideas what have you done to get around it?

Thanks

Got to love people who cut wiring looms rather than just unplug stuff. Worst case scenario you could join the cut wires and replace all that has been taken off. Yes it might be a bit of a pain, but it will save pain later, and your not having to hunt for a mechanic who wants to risk his ticket to do a stranger a favour.

A few years ago we went to a ride in NSW and cops were pulling over bikes without legal street gear. A rarity, but it made me put all the street legal gear back on my bike (I'm getting old) It is handy when you have to do transport sections and it's not adding much weight. I just replace the rear blinkers with those small orange running lights.

How long until NSW grabs the bull by the horn and gets rec reg together, it works in Victoria just fine.
I have a head light here in Victoria and that's it, we are pulled over every second ride with out incident.

For $75 a year for rec reg, I think other states are just slurping in the dollars for full reg and don't want to let that revenue go!

Not sure if it'll help but I've unplugged and removed all road going gear of my 570.....could send it to you to pass rego if it helps, use it then send it back

yeah NSW is all about the $$ I think roughly rego is around $300ish but also need CTP about $300 depending on your postcode, plus the E-Saftey check $54
gets pretty pricey just to ride a few time a year.

Thanks for your offer 520pilot, I think I might just go down the path of putting everything back on it.
Blinkers are pretty cheap, Only problem is finding that indicator switch that goes under the horn, headlight switch. previous owner has taken that off prob to try and save weight](*,)
If anyone has a spare lying round?
I think most of the other stuff horn ect should be easy find on EvilBay

Those indicator switches turn up on ebay from time to time, or call a wrecker that wrecks dirt bikes. Same switch as a KTM and there's plenty of those getting parted out.
