Reg 343 - Anyone have experience with this?

I just got back from the DMV CA and paid $52.00 bucks. Now I need to do a Vin Verify by a peace officer, DMV or licensed vin verifier. Then they can issue a green sticker along with maintaining your plate. Has any riders have gone through this process with doing a dual reg 343 form?

I never had to do any vin verifying in wisconsin, but for riding the bike on the dnr's public atv trails the only way it is legal is if it is a currently street plated bike that has a green sticker, no actual linked together dual register paperwork or anything but its kinda the same, they both want to charge you for use of the street and the dirt! standard government procedure my freind!

Well I finally got all the paper works done and sending off to lien holder. hopefully DMV doesn't take forever.

In CA do you need a green sticker to ride in the parks and open spaces, wilderness areas? The plate doesn't allow you to do that? Asking to figure out what it buys me to do dual reg.

Thx.

Rensho,

From my understanding and talking with other riders and DMV, a plated bike is fine for on and off road. The only reason why I did a dual registration is for example: I went riding yesterday at Jawbone Canyon, I was able to take all my street legal stuff off my bike such as turn signals rear lights and license plate so I can ride it like a dirt bike. It allows you the freedom to take them off legally. When I want to roam the street and light off road then I will put back on my street stuff. Essentially 10 minutes of putting your lights back on your bike.
