What is everybody using for the reflective tape on the bottom of the fuel tanks? I can't find anything that wants to stick very well.
thanks

I used generic reflective heat tape. It wouldn't stick either, so I used spray-on adhesive. Worked great. I used 3M, as most other brands noted that they wouldn't work on a poly surface.

One caveat though: I removed my pump the other day, and when I did I sloshed gas all over the bottom of the tank. Everything came peeling off, so I have to reapply it. Nuts.

heavy duty aluminum foil shiny side out and a little duct tape works great.
cover everything on the under side of the tank that is exposed to heat or where the heat can be trapped from no air movement, front of tank between radiator and tank helps. Don't forget the 70 degree sub tank.
Don't do any thing that reduces air flow between tank and engine. On other band of bikes with fuel boiling problems I seen guys use fiberglass to try and stop heat movement, it made the problem worse.

Yeah, when I mentioned the CV4 blanket my dealer cringed, apparently some other client installed one and whatever is used to stick it to the tank failed, the blanket dropped onto the engine and you can imagine the result... I bought some DEI tape and will be attempting to apply it soon. Will report back.

I have a CV4 heat blanket and can confirm the velcrose comes away from the tank in some places - they do sell a replacemenet velcro kit but wouldnt bother with it.

I had my tank off for a valve check and have just applied some 'sticky velcrose dots' to those areas where it has come unstuck. I trialled some glue (dual mix) in two areas and will see how that sticks for future maintenance.

I noticed that some velcrose had perished\crumbled due to the extreme heat under it. Very simple maintenance however and am otherwise happy with it - very thick material.

I used the DEI tape (got it from Autozone) and it has stuck well. Been a few months and probably 500 miles now. Went a bit wonkers with it, put on 3 layers in a 90 degree cross pattern. Used the DEI fiberglass wrap, got the fan on the radiator, removed the ball from the gas cap and drilled it out a bit. No boiling gas that I can detect.

I have a 70 Degree tank on the bike too - always carry plenty of fuel, rarely have less than a gallon of gas on board at the end of a ride. Dunno if it true or not, but I suspect carrying a bit more fuel helps keep it from boiling. More fuel = a bigger heat sink vs. a small amount of fuel, resulting in less chance of boiling? Just a theory, could be completely wrong

Is there another name for the DEI tape? I looked on the Autozone web site and can not find it.
thanks
