Recurring Big Gun exhaust on eBay

The guy is for real, he just uses the same pictures for all his auctions, I bought an exhaust system once from him.
 
Hey Le frog, If you look at the other items he sells he has lots of big gun exhaust for other applications as well. If you plan on bidding let me know so we will not be bidding against each other. I want one for my 501. When the one listed sells he will list another shortly. I am hoping to get one for under $100. The last one went for $105 but I was out of town.
 
The reason the can does not sell is because it is for closed circuit use only.
This meaning.
It is louder than crap and has no spark arrestor. It is everything that most offroaders are against here in the US.. You dont see too mant 01-02 bergs on the MX track any longer. thats why he cant sell it.
 
Well, he does sell a quiet insert for it and he can combine shipping. They also make spark arrestors for it and I would surely get one.

My issue is that my exhaust does not have any mention of anything regarding USFS legality. It does not have an obvious spark arrestor, that would put me out of trouble if I was "pulled over" by a ranger.

If it puts me over the 96db, then I don't think I will use it too long and put it back on eBay and take a little loss (I may even make a buck). You know I am just as sensible as any other adult rider out there.

By the way, how does one use a decibel meter with a dirt bike? Is it one-meter away at half rev?
 
frog, i had a big gun can like that one on my 98 fe. it was easy to make a spark arrester out of a collander screen, and the quiet insert prolly quieted it down from 100db to about a 98 :lol:
 
I had bought one from him for my 2003 501 but it didn't fit. I think it only fits '01s and '02s. I did come with the spark arrester screen though. I sent it back with no hassles.
 
Hey Le Frog, the big gun listed on ebay does have the usfs spark arrestor. I would beinterested to know how this pipipe rates among anyone who has had one. As I said before I plan to bid on this but if you want to bid on this one I will wait till they relist again. I seperated my shoulder this weekend so I will not be riding for 6-8 weeks. :(
