I have the stock PHM 40 Del Lorto. Knowing that these carbs are finicky, and that I am riding anywhere from 3500ft to 7500ft, what are your recommended jetting specs? I've got the stock jetting specs via the owners manual, just want to see what you guys are running.

we have two sets of jetting figures for you in the doc. although you may think that they are "only" for a 501 - they willl still suit you because you have the larger carb. the altitude means that you can come down about 10 on the MJ and the rest you can perhaps leave alone.
we even have an altitude adjustment chart in the doc now. nobody spotted that though!

The 170 main jet listed in the doc would be way small for a 650. DR272 and K51 are good as is 35 pilot.
The 01/02 650 engines for some reason really like a large main jet. I used to run a 200 main with race exhaust system going down to a 185 with an enduro exhaust system. This is more or less at sea level give or take a few hundred feet but with the doc's altitude chart you should be able to make your own adjustments.
The jetting listed by Heimir in the doc are also worth a try as he rides a 550 and so should be fairly close.

i ran a dr266 and was none the wiser regarding a dr272 at the time. if i had been i would have come down from a 195MJ to something akin to a 170 i think. i'll have a look at it as i agree. i think if you'd had a dr274 in yours you might also have been around 180+
