I'm trying to decipher pages 26 and 27 of the 2005 owner's manual.

At the bottom of page 26 there is a chart titled "RECOMMENDED INSPECTION OF THE HUSABERG - ENGINES USED FOR HOBBY-ENDURO COMPETITIONS BY YOUR HUSABERG WORKSHOP (ADDITIONAL ORDER FOR THE HUSABERG WORKSHOP)"

At the top of page 27 there is a second chart titled "RECOMMENDED INSPECTION OF THE HUSABERG - ENGINES USED FOR ENDURO COMPETITIONS BY YOUR HUSABERG WORKSHOP (ADDITIONAL ORDER FOR THE HUSABERG WORKSHOP)"

Does this mean that I don't need to do an engine overhaul every 45-60 hours if I don't race it?

That's how I interpreted it. It is funny wording, that's for sure. I'm not sure if it's funny because of translations from other languages, or if it's their way of allowing you to read between lines and still giving themselves "plausible deniability."

Unless you're an A or AA rider, these motors seem like they should stay strong well past 60 hours.

The way I interpret this:
Husaberg recommends what we would refer to as daily checks,checking fluid levels,tire pressures etc. For major services additional work (orders )would be created,over and above the required daily checks
So in effect if you are not racing you would not require the extra work (orders) on the same schedule as if you were.
I am certain it is a language issue.
My friends first motorcycle from the orient stipulated the he "must keep manual in hand for one year" :D

i hope not. i've had my bike a month, and i live in the snow, and i have 2 other bikes, and it already has 25 hrs on it. i expect to have 200 or so hours by the fall.
