Hello Ive been reading this forum time ago and really it has helped too much, although like you can see this is my fist topic.

Ive a husaberg FE 400 from 2000 with non e-start and last year i changed the piston for a new one and i noticed that the old one was scored hardly by a ball bearing i found in the crankcase. I took out and i though it may comes from the mains but as i didnt have enough money to change it i took the risk and i have been running one year with no problems. Anyway always when i have been drainning the oil i ve seen a lot of metal shaves particules like you can see in the picture and sometimes even bigger than those. So right not ive decided to make the engine more reliable and i have openned it to check everything.

But although it could sound weird ive been dissapointed after checking all because i cant see anything wrong. The mains looks like in a good shape and every bearing looks great and with all its balls in ( from where could comes that ball i found last year in the crankcase?). Ive checked the follower cam bearings and they are without any sypthoms of flaking or spalling.

Otherwise ive checked the big end with this method wich you can see in the following video and ive apreciate that "clon" noise when i hit it which means its failling. [youtube:34ikf7ba]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ag4DO6TwpFI[/youtube:34ikf7ba]

In the following videos you can see how are my mains bearings and in the picture you can see how are the metal dust that appears when i drain the oil:

What do you think about the mains ? Anyone could tell me if i should change it and why ? is it possible that all those metal shavins could come from the rod big end bearing which is for sure failing or maybe there are something more i have to check?
