14 x 48 for trailing
14 x 50 for racing on the flat
13 x 50 for steep rock face stuff

Check what you have on the front first as it may be that you just need to drop one tooth there.

Cheers,
Simon

no i want to get a rear sprocket to shorten my wheel base a bit im thinking might go 50 tooth do i have to buy a husaberg sprocket or are they universal if not who makes them for bergers...?

cheers doug

If you want a sprocket that will last, buy a steel sprocket from Chain Gang. They are not far from you, www.chaingang.com.au or 1800 806 857.
You can save a little weight if you fit an alloy sprocket but expect to change it every 2,000 km or less.

Personally I run 15 - 50 but I am finding that a little low. Next time I will go to 15 - 52 which I think is the stock gearing.

I thought 15 - 48 was stock. Anyway, I'm running the stock gearing for a '03 FE501e. I tried one tooth smaller on the front for a couple of rides but found it too short... Just my 50cents worth.

sprockets

14-48 for trail riding,
14-50 for grass tracks or for higher profiled tyres ie 450-18 as opposed to 110/100-18.
