Why are the rear shocks on the KTM and Husaberg set at different angles and what effect does is it have on the PDS system? Which one is preferred?
Just curious
Hi mkall32 this not an easy answer I have tested various setups on KTM
and Husaberg thanks to my freind who has suspension company KTM has
greater rising rate than Husaberg which may seem better but I dont think
so yes you can get better bottoming resistance in theory with KTM geometry but you are also working with high speed versus low speed impact combining the two extremes its hard. KTM has attempted perfect
this for many years they are getting better each year but each year magazinetest complain about bottom easy and harsh on small stuff and in Dirt rider their impression was that husaberg suspension worked better than KTM, Making Husaberg suspension better has been easier than on
KTM

I think the rear suspension on my 2003 'berg was better than my 2005 KTM. it was garder to get the berg to bottom. it may be in the valving. KTM's (EXC models) lack HS adjustment on the shock and i find this to be a real pain in the a$$. i used it regularly on my berg with good effect.
I`ve had an FE550 05 and the KTM525exc, theres alot going in favour for the exc, but having rode them both the Husaberg has a better back end. On the KTM i have more kick backs over rutty(enduro type) going. 1-0 HUSABERG.
Hi Brendan I have not played with the old Husaberg link suspension like I
have with PDS. Newer PDS are better stock than the older link suspension
the high speed aspect of the shock is much improved thats my opinion
I would not want my old 96 Husaberg back thats sure
