Rear Fender

All,
I have a 2010 FE450 and it seems when we get back from a muddy ride I am the only one who can barely get into my backpack since it is caked with mud. My brother and the rest of are on a Honda, Suzuki and a Yamaha and they come back much cleaner and dryer than I. Now I dont want this to become how much of a Pus$%#y I am but seems how our rear fender has those cool cut outs in back limits is ability to do its job. Anyone else notice this or care?
Thanks,
Tim

Maybe a fender extension/plate holder would help. Like this only without plate and blinky things.

I cut a piece of plastic from a large tub from WalMart and pop riveted it under the fender. It makes it wider so the mud doesn't fly forward around the sides of the fender.

I can assure you many people have noticed it. on the old bergs the rear edge was 2" behind the tyre and now it's about 3" ahead.

but besides bodges there's nothing out there.

regards

brilliant, i've had the same issue even with the rear guard extension. it's the way they've cut those slits into the rear fender, probably wind tunnel tested it and it added 0.0005 mph to the top speed, or just looked faster? but i get covered in crap on muddy rides. so the large tub it is.
