Rear Brake-pad wear?

Hi there,

can anyone explain me why the Berg/KTM rear-brake pads(OEM-parts) are gone within just some hours/days of offroad-riding?

On all of my past Offroad-bikes the rear-brake pads lastet for almost a season?
And I´m not talking about pro-racing, I´m just Mr. Average... :?

Any advise on more durable compounds?
The DOC is only referring to feeling, not to wear?

Thanks in advance

ever since i can recall, brembo pads have worn out instantly. i believe i have mentioned this somewhere in the doc but can't be sure.

i use gold fren and they're brilliant. feel. long lasting.

My stock pads lasted quite a long time, and I replaced them with EBC pads. I have also used Dunlopads as well and they seem to work well.

Make sure there is no air in the system and that the caliper pins are well greased so that it floats freely.

Also, if you are riding in mud a lot you might consider going to a solid disc as the solid seems to keep the pads from wearing too quickly in the mud.

Mud and moisture must have alot to do with the wear. I have never replaced a set of rear brake pads on any of my bergs yet. I may have to consider it soon on the 496. At 50 hours there is about 30% remaining. Keep in mind that I rarely see mud.
I know Husky uses a solid rear disc just for the reason of brake pad longevity in the mud and muck.

Mud is enemy #1... If it's a dry summer I can run a set of pads easily all summer and into the next. If I'm in mud/water they're gone in a day or two, if I'm not on top of cleaning and greasing the pins.
