Rear brake light isn't working (2002 FE650)

Hi everyone

So my 2002 FE650's brake light isn't working.

It seems as though its getting no power.

I replaced the original brake light for a LED on as the old light didn't work and I assumed it was because of the state it was in.

However, it seems as though that wasn't the case.

Has anyone had this issue?

Plus...

There is a little yellow wire under my regulator with a spade head and it's not connected.

Could this possibly be the cause? (I did not want to try it incase I cause chaos)

Just to add to the confusion, I believe it have the 02 FE650 Loom with turn signals but without ignition (I do have a headlight with high and low beam switch)

Thanks in advance all!

Fraser,
check that the current running to the tail light is AC. If so most LED globes will NOT work as they need DC.
This can be fixed by a simple diode which chops the AC to DC. Available on ebay for a couple of dollars. if buying the LED light make certain that there is a significant difference between the tail light brightness and the STOP light brightness as a few globes I purchased failed NSW rego inspection here in OZ.
Once the work is done the LEDs last better with all the bouncing around on the trails.
Cheers

Anthony
