Just finished tearing down and rebuilding my FX650e ds. The wiring was all hokey, so rather then muddle the problem further I decided to start from scratch. Can anyone take a look at this wiring diagram (see attached) and tell me what you think before I cook something? I am by no means an electrical engineer, I realize I might have left some critical info off when I color coded the thing, if you need more input holler. I will be out in the garage rewiring.

REWIRE

It is definitely worth rewiring the bike I have just done mine but I removed everything not needed blinkers, key switch, then made an ignition loom and moved the main earth, starter relay and starter leads under the seat then fitted this loom , then made a lighting loom to lay over the top used a KTM enduro light switch and Husaberg start hi/lo switch. I now know that all the wires are sound, all the earths are good, there are no extra confusing wires and if there is a problem it is easier to find and deal with it. Your loom looks OK but confirm it with the looms available in the download section as they are factory spec and gave me all the info needed.

I used the factory spec to create this one (you might recognize some of the parts cut and pasted in). More or less I wanted to know if I could tie the two lighting coil yellow wires off to the voltage regulator as I have done. Has anyone else done this?

O I wanted to mention and forgot anyone that is thinking about a BajaDesigns switch, it doesn't fit right. The hydrolic clutch is in the way. I grinded the whole back off and had to make a shim for the clamp. I am wary of this now, its not something I want to have fall apart mid ride. I had to go and fiddle with it didn't I.

Thank you,

Michael

Update: Rewire Complete

Just wanted to pass on the word to others: I tied the two yellow leads out of the lighting coils and no meltdown yet (about 3 hours of ride time on the bike).
