Rattling (somewhere) on low rev....?

Hi friends!
I (think) I hear some kind of rattling when I ride on low gear, and starts to throttle. It MIGHT be the chain in the front sproket area. The intallation of the skid plate have made me hear more noises, as the plate throws all sound from the engine up.
Is there any alarming thing that I have to check, about rattling like that?

A.

common noise. check the side of the battery box area for interference

Lower roller?

If you suspect chain related noise check the lower chain roller. The bearings in mine were shot and the roller was rattling a good 'un, especially on the over run as the fork compressed / back end lifted, resulting in the chain contacting the roller more so.

I don't think the situation is helped by having front sprockets with incorrect offset, where the chain doesn't run central to the roller.

Thanks for tips!

My bike have no battery, so that can't be. I'm sorry that I forgot to mention that this is a 2001, FC550, 4 speed.

I'm don't know how many hours my engine has turned, so I'm looking (listenings) for signs that tell me to give the engine a service. But, to be frankly, it runns good. It was only that rattling that have gotten my attention. I guess I'll have to researche some more....

I'll check your tips, dino1. Thanks!

chain yep, but I reckon that your chain is too loose!

with your chest compressing the seat as much as you can you want 15-20mm of chain travel in the middle of the upper run. anything over 20mm is too much.

Solved! Or.........to be frankly; discovered!
I discovered that the inside of my frame, behind the rearbrake sylinder, is worned a lot. Looks like the chain touches, and I guess it's specially when I'm on low rew and the chain vibrates. I think I'll try to find something, rubber or plastic, to make a protection for my frame. I think the chain has the right tension, though.
Any tip?
