Hi Everyone, im new here and to the world of Bergs.
Just brought a FS650e 2004, When cold sounds ok but when it warms up it rattles quite bad (maybe its just me), clutch side, pull in the clutch and its a little better but still rattles, what should i be looking for any ideas ?

Anytime one of these rattles you should be checking the torque on the primary drive nut...PDQ too.

Compared to other brands the post 2001 Husaberg is noisy. Such the result of a very busy auxiliary drive using straight cut gears.

Chuck the balance assembly and go stealth.

The one that goes on the end of the crank holding on the smaller gear that transfers power to the larger clutch gear.

Ok so now i know where it is should i go in and check or are they just a noisey motor.
And whats this about chuck the balance assembly ?

I'd Go In As I Have Bad Luck And It'll Be Nothing,But If I Left It...Well Then My Luck Would Make It Very Exspensive.
Think While Your There Do Some Checking On Stuff While Your There,Like Valves,Rocker Bearings,Tensioner And Chain.
What Sort Of Hours/Miles Does The Bike Have?

And whats this about chuck the balance assembly ?

Nothing more than a little inside joke. I am not a fan of the axial balance assembly. I advocate the removal of said assembly combined with suitable crankshaft balance.

Such being said know that for a fee I provide such a service and therefore obviously tainted.

40 hours, 1100miles
Was only going in the clutch side, what parts do i need, water pump o ring (what size) and anything else?? Do i need gaskets etc

I'd Change The Water Pump Bearing As This Comes With New Seal Fitted,Lots Of Threads About Them. Couple Of Gaskets And Some Sealant.
Taking Inspection Covers And Rockers Assy Is Very Easy,About A Dozen Allen Screws And Some Sealant,You Can Reuse The Inspection Cover Gaskets.
Tensioner Is Only 3 Bolts,One Being The One That Holds The Spring Tension. Take That Out And Count Or Measure The Lenth. Is Its 2/3rds Out To Full Extension Then A New Chain Will Be In Order,Same As The Rockers,If The Bearings Feel Notchy Then They Need Changing.
Inspect What You Can See Of The Valve Springs,Make Sure That There's None Thats Broken Or Begining To.
The Hardest Part Is Taking Off The Side Cover.
Spend A Couple Of Hours And Have A Little Piece Of Mind That The Noise Is Nothing To Really Worry About.

And i know by reading posts on this site that you know your stuff and anything you did would be top notch.
Maybe later in the year when i have more money i might give you a shout.
Do you have a list of what you do
By the way mine's an 04 model

Speaking of balancers and substancial fees has anyone else updated an older (pre 06) balancer to the new one piece unit c/w with bearing?
