this morning I punctured my radiator, going up a steep sandy hill at speed, front wheel came up (which I wasn't expecting) and ended up slamming her on her side. being sandy, handlebar went into the sand letting the side of the bike take all the brunt force. I bent the lower shroud mount around the front of the radiator and put a big hole right in the lower left corner of the front of the radiator. my question is this....... I am a recreation rider on a budget. I put the bike together this summer from peices. the radiator wasn't in great shape to begin with, had some dings in the frame and some bent cooling fins. is it worth getting recored? or would i be better off getting a new one. motor did not get hot at all so seems like it was doing its job, but just somewhat of an eyesore. should I stick with the oem rad., or is there a decent aftermarket at a reasonable price. and last question is is there anything I can get to support the mounting bracket for the radiator or shrouds? see ya all in moab......

Hi Dan

Get it reconditiond.
A good auto work shop should be able to direct you to the right people. We have a greatguy that makes and repairs rads at a good price but the Uk might be a little bit out of your neighbour hood. Ask around some auto shops and good luck.

thanks all for your help.....i remember seeing some metal rad. guards somewhere but i can't remember where. anyone know if they where for sale here or was it ebay? nothing on ebay at the moment, but i'll keep checking.

Hello Dan,

I have a used radiator sitting spare. OK it is in the UK but I have sent a lot of parts across to the US without probems. Let me know if you're interested.

Cheers,
Simon

I've sent off radiators to Mylers Radiator Repair in Utah. He's cheap $55-Max, repair and return within two days, and the repairs have never failed. There is also a shop in socal, Pacific Pipe & Radiator in Fontana (I think). The add is always in the back of Dirt Rider along with Mylers.

thanks guys for your expert opinion. I have checked the owners doc for radiator protection and found the blue aluminum guards and also bendberg's gallery. I guess what I am after is something like what is in the pic I am going to try and attach. I found this on ebay austria. I don't read anything other than english so I have no idea if this will fit a 99. does anyone know where I can get something like this in the states? thinking of taking the picture to a machine shop around here to see if they can copy it. I posted the pic of the rad guard in my gallery, so please check there to see a pic of what I am looking for. as usual, thanks for any imput.

Nice find Dan!
Sure would be nice to know if these guards are indeed made to fit Husabergs and what model years they'd fit. I'm much more interested in side impact protection than frontal protection and the ones in your picture look like they would do a great job.

i did a search on ebay austria on husaberg so i assume they will fit. but not sure which years. i don't speak or read whatever language they use in austria so i waasn't able to read the info on the site.if anyone can translate to english that would be wonderful. it on ebay austria, do a search on the home page for husaberg and this ad should be on page 2 almost at the bottom of the page.

if anyone here is smart enough to give me the ebay europe link that's even super-duper better than mine i'd appreciate it. i get the english, german and then some of the others. i want them all! all of them!!!

regards
