I have 2011 FE390 with radiator guards, I bought bike used with these on so I don't know if they are stock or not. I believe these are Husaberg guards, they are black plastic fins. The idea is I guess the air hits the inside of the tank cowlings and push the air in thru the fins. However it seems to me the fins aren't very wide open. Has anyone ever tested temps with guards and without. We all know these bikes tend to run hot

My 2011 FE390 has guards that sound the same as yours - and I believe they are stock. As usual, mine runs hot - on one occasion in 95F heat I boiled the gas on a hill climb. Three suggestions: 1. Install a radiator fan if you don't have one. 2. Install a heat shield/blanket under the gas tank (find them online). 3. Use "Engine Ice" or some other brand of additive to the coolant. I have not boiled the fuel recently - those upgrades really help and should have been factory items. If you have not had heat related fuel pump failures, then your bike probably has the better fuel pump from the factory. Youtube vids cover this problem. This bike is the best I've ever ridden.
