Lefrog,
I give up who is Trigger Gumm and what did he/it do?All the other questions are answered ...no?

Good, Lubbz! The duck's quack has no echo that any human can detect, although it was proven in the show Mythbusters that there is indeed a tiny echo.

Nsman: Trigger Gumm: http://www.crusty.com/trigger_vid.htm

He beat the longest jump record on a CR 500. Note how perfect the landing.

ATK is the other US-owned manufacturer. All the others you named are the subsidiary of something else (like Buell is a HD-owned outfit). Now you're going to tell me I am wrong :)

I was wrong about the twin-cylinder, because of Aprilia's wrongful claim to be first in that game.

Everything else was guessed right.

Mert Lawwil's invention has made a few amputees happy.

Taffy: you need to rent/buy On Any Sunday, it's a must-see.

2) Dick Burelson is correct, and just for the record it was eight consecutive.
3) incorrect
5) incorrect
6) ATK correct
7) Sonic correct
8) incorrect
9) Mugen Honda, you get half credit :D Johnny O'mara beat all the 250's and 500' in said race.

I'll give it a bit longer then I'll post all the answers, thanks for a great try nsman. I'm impressed that you knew the Sonic, I saw a pristine one at one of the Anaheim supercross races this year.

8 Pro Tec
9 O'mara was a factory Honda rider by 83 and pulled his mugen victory in the 80 or 81 season
10 Husqvarna

8) Pro Tec is correct. I remember at the time that was about the trickest four stroke on the planet. It was for sale a while back in Cycle News for I think 10,000 USD.

9) 1980 is correct, I should have gone with my original thought on that one. Remember, he was decked out in white riding gear.

10) Incorrect-- I was asking for the racer. And it's Larry Roesler.

Here's the final list of answers:

1) In Long Beach California at Veterans Stadium in I think 1983.

2)Dick Burelson

3)Bob Balentine

4)I know that Jutta Kleinschmidt raced a couple of Paris to Dakar's on a bike, but, I believe that Brit Patsy Quick has the best finish.

5)None other than Edison Dye. He was honored by Tom White with an award for doing so at last years Anaheim Supercross Opener. His Honor? The now yearly Edison Dye lifetime achievement award.

6)ATK. My best friend rode a 1989 400 for several years, with his top honor being the top Open Amateur in the 1990 National Hare & Hound series.

7)Sonic-what a beast!

8)Pro Tec.

9)Mugen Honda

10) Larry Roesler. I'm pretty sure he has 10 500 wins and 10 1000 wins.

If I've made an error please feel free to correct. Thanks for the answers!!

UPDATE:

According to my friend who owned the ATK. The Chain Aniti Toruque Device was not invented by boysen, but, Rather by Horst Leitner.

And an interesting side note. The chain anti torque device as you may or may not know put the rear brake on the counter shaft. When this device showed up in Europe at the MX GP's, the officials would not let the bike run in that configuration citing that if the chain broke there would be no rear brake.
