I was thinking of making a trip to NC within the next month to visit my fiance. She is going to school in Charlotte until and will be coming back here after Christmas. Anyway, I was wondering if I come your way for a few days would you be able to get together for a little riding time? Are you close enough to the OHV park that's near Hickory? Or do you have some other suggestions on places to ride? I don't really care that much about MX, getting too old for that, but really enjoy woods riding.

Anybody from this area please feel free to respond.

heya jay,

I can't speak for Charlotte(I'm 3 hours away from there), but Western NC has some good riding. I've not ridden around here in over 3 years, but I hear of the guys speak of Telico and my brother once took me to an awesome OHV area(that was always my type of riding as well). There's quite a few guys in our neck of the woods, I bet you could get a posse up to try some new terrain.

WB better be up for it. I need a ride report :)

thanks,

NC Riding

Jay,

I live in Hickory and ride most weekends at Brushy Mtn Motor Sports Park. Great price to ride with about 40 miles of marked trail. PM me when you get over this way and we'll hook up. If you need to ride during the week it should be no problem.

I live 10 miles from the TN stateline. What little rideing I have done has been local.Manan has asked me in the past to come ride at Brushy Mt. which for me is quite a ways away for a day ride.Let me know a head of time so I can plan then we can take it from there.I would about have to make this a overnight trip because of the distance.Take care.

Bill,

Where do you live? Even if I don't come out in the next month, maybe I can head your way sometime.

Jay Johnson City is a little over 30 miles from where I live.Take I-26 like going toward Asheville,NC.Look for the Unicoi TN exit cut off there, cut right at stopsign and down at bottom of hill you will see a sign Buladean NC and the road is TN 107.Just stay on this road, when cross into NC the road becomes highway 226.Look for Bad Creek Road will be on your right also there is a swinging bridge on the left at the turn off.All this will be before you get to Red Hill. I usually ride or did at I-81 Speedwaypark.Which is down near Greenville,TN off of I-81,Exit 44.Can ride all day for $10.Hope I didn`t get you lost  Let me know.

Manan,

I was thinking of coming out to NC the weekend before Thanksgiving. I still haven't made any definite plans as of yet, but will keep you posted if I decide to make the trip.

Would I need to put my stock exhaust with the spark arrestor back on for Brushy Mtn? I am currently running a Big Gun pipe with no spark arrestor and don't know what Db it puts out.

manan that looks like a real nice place. :( Shame it is so far from where I live.Keep me posted might be able to rig something up.Take care.P.S. After I posted this I did a check using map quest. The distance is around 90+ miles so I figure since I don`t know the roads it would take around 2 1/2 hours{figure 3 at least} if I don`t have any problems. It is possible just have to plan ahead.Take care.
