Question about wiring 2001 FX650e

Love this site - lots of knowledge.

We have been building and tuning our FX650e - and we pretty much have mechanical issues all sorted out.

here is the question - We bought this bike in a crate from auction and wire harness was missing - we have made our own and have been pretty seccusfull in getting it runnning on (HI)

We have the R6 starter mod and battery.

Our bike has a regulator/rectifyer with 4 connectors - it looks like 1 is for Yellow, 1 goes to grond????, and 1 goes to red/white.

What does red/white feed? We don't have a key switch so I am at a loss on the diagram where is goes. I am only getting 6 volts DC from it.

The other yellow produces 28 volts AC??? where should it go?

Lastly - it looks like if I want to go to (LOW) setting all I need to do is ground the Gray from the CDI???
thanks

Thanks Ned - however as stated - I have all the schematics and diagrams and manuals - what I don't have is the key switch - I am just interested in what wire combo connects together for the switch.

there is a red/white, orange, red/black, ground

am I correct in assuming that Rd/BK, Rd/Wt connect together? - and went key is OFF the Orange goes to ground?

I found another diagram which showed exactly what the hi/low/start switch did, I just want to confirm that putting gray to ground will advance timing (low)

Hi all!
madsledhead, do you mind if I'll ask my question in your topic? :)

My friend has a 2001 FX650E too, and he's got a little problem with it, it has no CDI, ignition coil, regulator-rectifier and the stator is damaged, basicly it has no electrical stuff but e-starter )
He couldn't find any solution by his own, so I wanted to help him out a bit, but I don't know how :D
He also wants to put lights, blinkers and a fan on it to move in town and do some stuntriding )

So, do you guys know what parts could fit it, cheap? maybe even change the flywheel? As I could understand the lc4 electrical stuff won't do, right?

just look out on UK ebay and I'm sure a wiring loom will come up soon.

regards

Taffy

Yes, but the original ones were without lights, right? He needs them badly. I thought that lc4 stator, cdi, ignition coil and rr should fit all together, no? :?:
