just had a fantastic day on my berg when i encountered a problem with the starting of the bike it was just turning over when i noticed a fuel leak from the right hand side from the fuel lines
fuel was under extreme pressure and squeezing by the clip so i un done the fuel filler cap and the pressure that was released was incredible once i had released it the bike ran fine.
one of my friends suggested that some one had removed the clip that's fitted to the breather pipe and reversed it causing the build up of pressure so i turned it round and it's working perfectly, i'm thinking of replacing the pipe just in case but any advice would be gladly received

?
if the breather pipe was blocked it wouldn't cause a pressure build up, infact, the opposite and you'd have problems with a vacume forming and fuel starvation on the pre '09 bikes.

sounds strange but was the bike left in the sun. if the breather was blocked maybe the air in the tank got heated and expanded, causing the pressure. just a guess.

I got one off ebay, anodised jobby with pipe piece. looks mint, works perfectly and cheap as chips ! for the sake of a few quid defo buy one and never worry about it again :)

the only flawless vent is a simple hose looped thru the bars.

Yep, done that on the trials bike and hasn't leaked at all, even on the numerous occasions it ends upside down.
