Problem when held flat out for a while?

just a little tail.

put my '03 400 into a chap who knew husabergs for a little problem.

when i picked it up the iridum plug was on the seat and he'd put a new standard plug, the ngkr2d3c3po or what ever it was call.

he'd said not to bother with them as the bike would be better off just using the standard one.

so i did

Tried the iridium on three occasions over the life of my old 650, Denso and NGK, both would create problems and had to go back to the fat old NGK and all was good.

Hi all just popped back to see if you all alive.

I agree with freaky i tried the ngr iridium and had it cut out on idle after only a couple of runs put the standard one back in no problems.

my IXU42 got progressively worse, took it out and tossed it in the corner, had a closer look since i just offered it up for a free home, the electrode is eroded and the gap has become rather big.

there may have been a bad run last year, there are failed denzo irriduims all over the net. heres just one example

Irridium plugs were the latest and greatest a few years ago, what has emerged now is they often just go poof! which is no good if you are racing or out in the bush 100km from the truck :D

there may be a small gain, I didn't notice any in my bike, starting was about the same... very easy on both plugs. get em running right and you don't need an irridium. I do know that nobody at the pointy end racing state MX rounds here will run an irriduim plug in a race bike.
