Problem fitting the clutch cover

I replaced the water pump seal on my FE550 -08, but when I should put the clutch cover back on I ran into problem. It seems that the kick-shaft has moved out of postion, it's possible to get the cover back on with some force, but then the kick wont work. It's totally stuck, but if I losen the screws a bit it's possible to crank the kick. I gusse it's the kick which has get out of positon when I removed the cover? Is it possible to get it right without removing the clutch basket?
I've read this thread and I guess I've got kind off the same problem. I've also read the owners doc, and particulary the part where the kickshaft is re installed.

Unfortunately I can't try to get it back together until after two weeks. But atleast you could help me figure out what to do, and what parts I need to get to be able to fix it.

Thanks in advance!

Yes mate. Clutch basket off. when reinstalling it put a thick cable tie between the clutch basket and the kicker pawl with a bit showing outside the case and that will keep the kicker spring seated while you get it all together. then slip the case on and loosely fit the bolts and whip the cable tie out. But all that is in the doc.
