I need some help about carburator settings. Today i ment racing my 550 02 model. At first it wouldt start, and i thougt it was dirt in the carburator. I screwed it to pieces, and refitted it. this was not the problem. the problem was dirt and water around the ignition weel. After cleaning this the bike fired, and idled fine. After racing 500m the bike stopped.
I now know that i turned the mixture screw complitly in when i was fidling with the carburator.
In the garage later this evening I unscrew the mixture needle 1,5 turns, and the bike fired. At this point, with the engine running, I thougt I was competent to adjust the idling. I fidled around with the idling screw soo much that the stalled! Now it wont restart. Iwe been kicking it all evening, turning the idling screw soo much that I have no idea how it was originally positioning.

Can someone tell me what is the setting for the idling screw? I know that the mixture screw should be 1,5 to 2,5 from completly closed, but what about the idling screw?

Please help a norwegian.........

i had same problem take carb off sit it on a bench at eye leval and adjust the idle screw until you can see light just under the slider easeyer if you put infront of a light or window that will give you a base mark

Mine runs a PHM 40 Dellorto and it's about 4.5 turns.
Why don't you set the mix about 1.5 - 2 turns, clutch start it, get it warm and set it.
