Hi all, Great site
new to all this, had sports bikes/r6,r1,busa bought a fc 470 last year, now got a 501 pre 2000 with water pump on head, and huge problems,
Any way just found you all and want to ask a question,
Fill bike with oil and water, kick over- starts first or second kick now adjusted, water drips fron weap hole, ive done a search and this seams a common prob with all years!
no bubbles in rad so put cap on- still dripping, afew blips of throtle and leave to warm up,
5 mins later water is spurting out of weap hole(under pressure), turn off and let cool down, no water on the rad now, opened oil filler and was met by a wave of milk?????
**** me thinks, even though this seems excessive could this still be the water pump seals or am i looking for something more sinister,
any help would be great
neil

with water spurting out of the weep hole it is highly likely that it is just the seals in the water pump that are causing the issue, throw some new seals in there fill her back up and see what happens...

Hi risky1, thanks for the advice, tell me do i have to take the cam out or can i just hook them out, also if im changing the inner seals i would be better changing the outer o rings as well, but in situ or strip
thanks
Neil

pull the cam.
might be a good time to freshen up the chain, etc, and a set of cam bearings, maybe rocker bearings.
