After 3 months ownership of a FE450e I still can`t belive how powerful this bike is especially on hill climbs.
My riding buddies have asked what the Brake Horsepower is and i haven`t got a clue and can`t find it anywhere.
Anybody know?

Bill

Brake Horsepower is from the crankshaft and is roughly 18% more than rear wheel, however, for comparison rear wheel / Dynojet is considered industry standard.

Low to mid forties via the rear wheel (Dynojet).

Thanks for the interest folks, this is a great site for getting info.

I have a Honda Africa Twin that puts out 60 BHP but the Husaberg feels like it would out accelerate it upto about 50mph. Then again the gearing is totally different.
The Berg feels like it has more than mid forties BHP, I don`t doubt your wise words Dale, I reckon it just puts the power down in a way that makes you feel it is more powerful.

Can`t wait for my next ride out this sunday, this bike is so much fun. :D

It's the HP to weight ratio that controls
acceleration.Top end is more HP to
wind drag ratio. My friends TT 500 Yamaha
could beat my Sportster up to about 70mph.

One thing is for certain. They hook up very well. If you have ever been behind a Berg you will understand. They kick up sand and throw rocks as rear wheel digs a small trench propeling the bike forward :)

I am not sure why but they put the power to the ground.

My scooter can whip a sportster up to 30mph
