I was wondering, does anyone know which manufacturer produces the plastics for Husaberg ? Cant find anything on the website of Acerbis, or of UFOplastics.
I was thinking of this when looking to the Schleenbecker website, the German importer of husaberg. He is selling a lot of plastic items, that are not listed by husaberg. But most of all : I would like to know where a BLACK tank can be bought.
Same question for graphic kits. If I may suggest : would it not be of value to publisch a list of all known sources where graphic kits can be purchased ?

Hi Xman,
black tanks are in the official spareparts list. They also have black fenders tank shrouts etc.
Every dealer should be able to order.
Look at www.husaberg.se in the files area for additional part list.

Thanks ! I thought that husaberg was not distributing the special parts for the Force limited edition (the black tank, shrouds, etc.)
Indeed those parts are listed in the aditional parts manual.
That means that a husaberg owner can convert his bike to look like the Force edition. :D

Xmen and ihf,

Acerbis is the maker of the OHM plastic for Husaberg. The black tank, shrouds, and fenders can only be bought if you are an owner of the "Limited Edition- Force" bikes. There are a few other parts in black or silver on the offical Husaberg website that can be bought for the Berg like handguards and fork tube guards but thats about it. Sure would be nice if Acerbis would make a few different colors for the Berg that still held onto the Sweedish theme.... I think the black looks tuff, I too would like to convert some of my plastic!!!

Over there in Europe, their is an aftermarket company that makes a nice graphics set. It is www.Blackbirdracing.com if you are interested. Although, they don't ship to the US. maichusa has a few of these decal sets for sale. PM him if your interested. Im thinking about getting myself a set for my bike to further set it apart from the others.....

Hope this helps,
Regards,

Can't help on the plastics but I do have some Blackbird kits left. Just send me a message, they are for the 00-05 models.
Regards.

@ sandskipper : I just checked at www.schleenbecker-moto.de
They sell front and back fender, protection for the frame, tankschrouds, fork tube guard, all in black (blue also for those who want it). But.... no black tank. :(
I will ask around if it would be possible to paint a tank in black. Maybe when a special primer is aplied before painting it ?

i beleive that the tank plastics have to be done with a dy...ive heard of someone useing RIT dy...but i have NO idea if it worked or not?

id just rather make a mold then fab up a fiberglass one ;)

Xmen,

Thanks for the post and the link as I have never heard of Schleenbecker before. I am not fluent in Dutch so I cannot navigate the page well but I did not see a front fender for the FC model in black.... do they only have it in the SM bike style?

Regards,
Sandskipper

Hi guys,

Schleenbecker Moto is a german Husaberg specialist.
I don´t know what is so special about the black fenders?
I have also a black front fender, it´s nice, sure, but I bought it
at my Husaberg dealer. He has also got the tank plastics and the rear fender in black. The front number plate is also black and also available at
a KTM dealer, the front fender too, because of the same shape.
Officially you can only buy the black force edition tank if you bought the force edition Husaberg, but
my dealer said sooner or later everyone can buy it.

greetings from germany

hribman

@sandskipper : no problem, but Schleenbecker is the German importer, and German is ab-so-lutely not the same thing as Dutch (which is the language that we speak in Belgium and in The Netherlands) :D
I will look to this matter more in detail, and if I get any details, I will put it on the forum.

@ hribman : that is good news. I really believed that it was only possible to buy the black tank when already owning a "Force" edition. Will look to that more in detail. Maybe it depends on the commercial attitude of the national importer ? In any case, thanks for the reply.

Xmen,

I hope you didn't take offense to the "Dutch" thing  as I was just looking at the .de in the web link and thought it was Denmark....

I dont know much about the various languges and the countrys which speak them. Again, sorry, no offense intended.

Sandskipper

 no problem whatsoever. On the contrary, it was a funny observation to read, from our perspective.

Greetings,

I like surferguy's idea, let's just all make donations and the site could buy the Force edition bike. I could keep it here and I would be willing to buy everyone black plastics that wanted them.

Like hribman says. All the black plastics except for the tank can be purchased at you local Husaberg dealer. I've converted my bike to all black except for the tank. I know people who have painted tanks in black and grey so it is absolutely possible. I've been on with my dealer and Husaberg Scandinavia about buying the black tank as a spare part and the reply is "be patient, they are coming. We just don't know when". But since I'm ordering a FS650 -05 as soon as my "old" 03 is sold I wont bother any more...
