Pivot Pegz Mk3

I recently installed a set of M3 Pivot Pegz onto my FE450. I was already using a set of the Mk2s and was very happy with them.

I saw that I could purchase these from the States cheaper than I could here on Australia (there is a whole debate in the Ozzie section of ADVRider on why are things that are made in Australia cheaper from overseas??)

In a rash moment (after a couple of stiff rums!!) I ordered a set set from http://www.advdesigns.com along with some other goodies. They were here about a week later and were quickly installed onto my bike.

I have been for four good rides now and I must say that the wider platform is very comfortable indeed!! Much more than the 10mm extra width (over the MK2s 50mm wide platform) would suggest.

So, if any one is thinking about purchasing a set of these, I say go for it..they are a worthy addition to your riding comfort.

Do you still have your older pivot pegz and want to sell them? I have little feet so the old 50mm would work on my Berg. :)

makes me feel good since I have a set on order, but mostly to lower the peg position a bit...hopefully I will like the pivot.

So, what do you like about them besides the width? Do you think the pivoting helps any?

How do you have them setup? IIRC they can be setup to be lower or higher than the stock pegs.

What is the diff between Mk2 and Mk3 and why do you think Mk3 is better than Mk2?

Thanks in advance.

I put the Mk3's on my 570. I like the pivot, feels very natural. The Mk3 in a tad wider for increased stability. I have them mounted in the normal position but they can be reversed into a lower position.

The wider platform makes them more comfortable for standing for longer periods.

I have the Pegz mounted in the lower position - I am short of leg and also have the Husaberg 'low' seat fitted to my bike. Since the difference is only about half an inch between the high and low position there is not that much real difference, but I went that way anyway.

The 'low' seat helps ME!! I am not blessed with long legs and every bit helps. It is still a bit awkward at times, getting on and off the bike, even with the low seat. No way could I do this with the standard seat. I also did not want to mess around with removing seat foam and recovering it. For me it was worth the cost. One thing to remember is that the seat foam has all the compliance of a block of teak.

If you want a 'low' seat with comfort, I would suggest a custom made seat.
