Piston to cylinder clearance specifications needed.

Hi,
Does anyone have the recommended piston to cylinder clearances? I'm specifically interested in the late models with 100mm pistons. The service guide says 100-99.88mm, but 100mm is unrealistic for a piston if the cylinder is supposed to be 100mm. It also doesn't factor cylinder sizing variations.

thanks for any help.

It really depends upon the exact piston alloy and final piston shape.
Best to start with piston manufacturers guidelines and test from there.

FYI:
Some of the "True Forged" 97mm pistons we use require .006" piston / cylinder clearance.

However, based on prior experience you should be good with a minimum piston / cylinder clearance of .0025 with said piston.

Sincerely,
Dale
