Who here has ridden the new pirelli scorpions? I saw them on a new berg, I havent seen them before. They look killer, but how do they ride?

I like them alot and would buy them again if I could find them. I am just getting ready to replace my originals at about 25 hours.

The front is a great all around tire. My front side knobs are starting to tear and the knobs are pretty rounded after 375 very hard and rocky trail miles. It still hooks up well. I would definitely get another. The rear, however, is a Euro "eco" knobby, and has the shortened knob height. It's like running a half worn out knobby from the get go. A real knobby blows it away, quite simply. The best thing I can say about the Scorpion rear is that it is very consistent--it slides everywhere

I replaced mine with a Pirellii MT 32 after about 100 miles. Much better, in my case.

i love the scorpion front!!! iwould rate it as the best front i have ridden. problem is price!!! they are $180 each in Oz whereas a S12 is $100!!!!!!

the rears are junk as far as i'm concerned!! good on nice loam, but the knobs are too short to be any good in sand/mud, and they tear to schreds on rock very easily.

i just bought a new bike last week so i am enjoying the front while it lasts!

Have Fun
Jeff

I tend to agree that the front seems pretty good but I will be going back to my favorite, the Michelin S12 on the back as soon as the rear wears out.

i only got about 5 hrs of riding really,,,
the front tire is not to good at all but the back i could pretty much rely on it through different tarrain,,,,that said

will not ever purchase a pirelli tire again after my experience with mt18

I hate them
I buy all my bikes in Germany, and they allways have Scorpions, as the first thing i change them to S12

it must be wet and muddy there, because S-12s will wash out on anything but mud and sand for me. I like the scorps because they are great in both mud and hard pack. a year round tire for me

I've never used mine.I pulled them off when I got the bike and installed a set of Dunlop 756's-my favorite "do-all" tire to date.I've had S-12's but never found they were as good as the 756's and had a much narrower working range as well.

I also did not like the scorpion and much prefer a Dunlop 756 on the front. Which is the first thing i changed on my 650. The 756 are good in sand and reasonable on hardpack.
