Pipe upgrade 2000 --> 2002(-04)

Hey hoo!

Someone may remember my search for slip-on silencer to my 400 FE. Well, I haven't succesed.
BUT, I managed to find a 2002 year Remus slip-on. The only problem is that I have to switch my pipe to a FE 2002 pipe, all the way.

So I was wondering if the a bit newer year 2002 pipe will fit to my year 2000 Berg? I think it may fit, and if not, the changes wouldn't be so massive...

You can probaply find pictures of these pipes. They look very much a like.

I'm thinking it won't work because 2000 was the last year of the old motor. 2002 is a completely different motor.

I know that 2000 was the lasst one with that engine. But is the difference so big? I doubt...
Anyway, I think I'm still going to give at least a shot!

The header pipes will be different from the cylinder, the silencer is on the same frame as later models. I don't know if the header pipes end up in the same position on old/new motor...?

If you go ahead with the attempt, please show pictures and comments from before and after.

I have a 2000 FC with the TI exhaust and it's really loud and I would like the possibility of running with a spark arrestor at times so i'm interested in learning what you had to do.

I will post some pictures/instructions. But first we'll have to see what happens!
Don't you have the original exhaust? I modified my original exhaust so that it's a bit more quiet.

I can post a pic if you want?

It's not pretty but does it's job. I bolted a metal plate to the end of the silencer. And the plate is full of holes, ofcourse.

Still hoping for that the -02 exhaust will fit, so i can have my Remus silencer. Sounds like a ******* beast after that! 8)

Anyone got any information about the pipechange from 2000 to 2002(04)??
Im about to close the deal and it would be nice to know for sure does the pipe fit...

Hi!

Time to update a bit!

So I got the headers and they did fit! Also the Remus silencer seems to fit ok! Now I only need the springs for the exhaust and then ready to go!

So if anyone was wondering does the later model pipe fit, it sure does. But on the other hand Im not sure about the even later model pipes 2004 -->

Hope to get the springs in few days and then some testing
