Just so the rest of you know, (Mr. Lineaweaver being far too modest to blow his own horn) a bike Dale prepared has just qualified as fastest (by a 21+ sec. margin) in the vintage class at this weekends Pikes Peak races. (also qualified 4th fastest in 750 Pro class) Not too bad for and old guy (Dale) with and old bike (Triumph) with an even older (and even more legendary) rider Mr. Eddie Mulder aboard. For those of you unfamiliar, Pikes Peak is the 2nd oldest motorsport race in North America. Running up a Colorado mountain road, beginning on pavement at 7,000 feet, transitioning to dirt 1/3 of the way up the mountain to the finish line at 14,100 ft! The course has 156 turns over it's 12.4 mile length, many of them hairpins. You have the mountain on one side and no guardrails or barriers on the other, with sheer cliffs dropping as much as 2000 ft. straight down at some points. It is like the Isle Of Man on dirt roads! Sorta the Big daddy of all supermoto courses. One of the amazing things about this is Dale has been able several times to deliver bikes jetted correctly "out of the box" for this event from his (sea level) shop! (Don't ask, I think he made a "deal" with a gentleman at "the crossroads" one moonless midnight to be able to achieve this!) Due to an un-expected bout with "cancer lite" My trip to the mountain was put on hold this year, but I have Dale's word that next year The big Berg's gonna make the trek, just so we can say we gave it our best shot. In the meantime you can check out further results @ www.ppihc.com./ GOOD JOB DALE! :D

Best of luck to Eddie Mulder and your finely tuned Triumph, Dale!

Hope you're having fun Rocky! I'm sure next year you'll be drifting around those hairpins in style.

Sincerely,
Log

Log,
Thank you for the kind words.

Official report as of Sunday, July third Eddie set a new record by a margin of twelve seconds. Way to go old man!

Best Regards,
Dale

WAY TO GO DALE! (not easy to set up a carbureted bike to pull hard and run clean from 7000 to 12000 ft. RIGHT OUTTA THE BOX!) Yeah he jetted the bikie at sea level and it ran correctly when they got there, just another "lucky guess' (NOT!) by THE MAN! :D
