Does anyone run one of these? I was just browsing for parts for my bike and managed to stumble across it, the vibration on my 650 is absolutely terrible on long rides and these could be just the ticket. Had never seen them mentioned on here though so has anybody used them?

Hi, yea I have a set fitted to my 09 FE450. Initially purchased for my old KTM exc and then transferred onto the Husy.
I like them, they do take the punch out of vibrations, don't know if I'd fork out the full purchase price though. I managed to score my set 2nd hand. I was looking at Twinwalls to help with some of the jarring on the KTM but the PHDS came up so I grabbed them insted. Don't feel like I need new bars now (except for the Bling factor).
My mate has a set and he paired them up with Renthal Twinwall handlebars, that really does make a difference.
I'd say that the PHDS takes the punch out of big hits/vibrations and the Twinwalls sort most of the rest. Comes down to budget, if it's not a problem then get both the PHDS & twinwalls. If it is then I personally would go for the PHDS first. Upto you, it's your money and this is just my humble thoughts.

Yeah I went for a bit of a trip on the highway this afternoon. I'd assume the 450 is nowhere near as bad on vibrations as the 650. It was only 15 min but the constant vibration is soo annoying. I've searched for a 2nd hand set and can't find any. If this eliminates my problem for $200 then its $200 well spent.

I was looking at getting some pro taper bars, but if you think the twin walls help then I'll check them out as well.

Well I bit the bullet and brought these, along with a scotts steering stabalizer so I'm hoping it rides smooth as silk now. Will report back when the parts get here. Probably going to get a set of twinwalls anyway as I'm after a different set of bars just to change the look of the bike a little.

Well done, I think with the steering stabiliser, PHDS & Twinwalls you've got everything you could do to minimise vibration & jarring.
Let me know how you get on with the Twinwalls as this is prob the next mod for me, or maybe a set of Hyde swingarm protectors. :bounce3:

Another thing I noticed today which they seem to list for the 09 - 12 bergs is scotts is now making a rubber mounted stabalizer kit. Wasn't an option for the older models but this could eliminate the need for the PHDS on the 70deg bergs. Although I'm not sure if they have the same vibration issues as I have never ridden one.

Well I'm really annoyed right now. My bergs back in the shop as the muppets didn't fix it properly after I had my prang, they left a few things as it was close to being written off but they didn't inspect the mounting points for the rad guards, one of which was rubbing on the rad. Partially my fault for not noticing, I should have checked over more of their work as the bars were loose after the first ride. But I pulled into the driveway just as it wore threw the core of the rad and spewed coolant everywhere. I have this lovely looking setup sitting on my bench waiting to go on.

Haven't got the twinwalls yet as this setup cost me $720, but they are coming. Going to go see what they are doing with my bike tomorrow since I haven't been called with whats going on yet and order the softer elastomers at the same time.

Well after a dispute with a hopeless workshop, I finally got my bike back today. They tried to make me pay for the repairs from their ****** (not to mention, I thought I would get a new rad or at least core, the weld on is horrible, I should have just busted out the TIG myself). Then told me they wouldn't charge me as a favor. I rode it to my parents house because I was almost 100% certain that they wouldn't have cracked the bleed screw on the rad. Was correct, nice hiss of air came out.

Anyway all that aside. WHOLY **** did this new setup make a difference! The vibration is almost all but gone in the handlebars, I'm going to try source a set of the green dampers online, as I refuse to spend any more money at my local KTM dealer after todays issues but this will hopefully eliminate it completely. I have the damper set up pretty solid for road riding, as it's so simple to switch between settings and it has made the bike feel so much more stable. Was concerned at the results I might get for $700 but I'm very impressed. Money well spent. Now all I need is a softer seat. And will probably still replace the stock bars as I want some nice looking ones for the new setup!

Well done, sounds like you've sorted it and are set ready to enjoy now :D
Bummer about your experiances with your local KTM dealer, most things can be sourced from the net easier and faster now days anyway so dealers need to be on the ball with service if they are going to compete.

I found on mine they needed a couple more ft/lbs of torque or they will loosen up and you need to check them periodically. I figured they reduced vibration by 20% and there are other things you can do. I don't get bothered much by the vibration, but my buddy does and he really likes these things called Vibronators, available on Ebay. he thought they were the best single thing he's used to cut vibration. He also uses those foamy grips, but I think they look and feel hokey.
