if Husaberg are pulling the pin on the LDCs shouldn't we let them know that this is wrong? like NOW!

I think that this will be the end of Husaberg because there is little point in just re-badgeing a bloody KTM now is there!

how mant badge-engineered bikes have you seen survive over the years?

......

none! exactly my point!

It isn't an out and out winner on the track but it is a GREAT trail ride and with fuel filter issues being sorted it has to be said that it is incredibly reliable!

so how about we all sign a petition if someone could sort it and then you give a one sentance reason why?

Taffy

now you are entering the area of computer geeks and I'm not one but just recently I was asked to sign a petition to keep the Manx GP from changing.

http://www.change.org/petitions/isle-of ... grand-prix

can we do something similar?

remember this bike has received no new development and yet it was and still is one of the best trail bikes you can ride?

regards

Taffy

You can use this site, but someone got to make the "About this petition" and the "Petition Letter".

You can also use the ktm talk, the thumpertalk or the husaber-forever, foruns , etc

The 2013 bikes will be available to buy in 3 months (in Australia), so they have already been made. They would have certainly increased production on the new KTM donk so it's all too late I'm afraid if that is where they are going.

Whilst it is a noble idea I can't think of a situation where a petition has actually wielded any positive results to write home about.

Unfortunately, resistance is futile

It doesn't matter. The company owns the right to make business decisions, both good and bad. They do not answer to the public, not even to their customers. They answer to their stockholders. The company also owns the consequences of those business decisions, and is answerable to their stockholders for them.

Correct, we own a very small % of their product, not their company. If we are unhappy, we can choose not to buy their product and buy something else.

If Husabergs end up being re badged KTM's, then would I buy one? maybe not. If I didn't get my Burg my second choice would have been a KTM. And I think allot of people would say the same. So in my case, they haven't really lost a sale.
That may be the way their looking at it, especially when you add the cost of production and the limited units sold.

Any of you thought you would change the company strategy with a petition ???

But if you have a good point and good arguments, that you would like to be heard, in a situation like this kind, how would you do ????

When I spoke with a friend in the Portuguese impoter, the guy just told me, hope the change is for a better bike because this year I haven't done any warranty.
So let's wait and see 8)

No Zaga, you won't change their minds. indeed, they were making the engine until they entered a board room and agreed to not make the engine and that was final.

so if I knew that what was my motive behind this thread?

To let them know that we're gutted!
that this is a bloody good engine and a great allround bike that is why!

notice the title isn't about them continueing production but about telling them what a mistake it is and that as I repeat myself and say: that badge engineered bikes never last!

what is wrong with a petition to let them know what a mistake it has been? nowadays all you do is visit a web page and click a box how much effort does that take? :cuss: :cuss:

Well, of course they know that the Husaberg 70 degree bikes are very good.
They know how well the Husaberg race team does.
Quality wasn't the issue when the decision was made.
The issue was profit.

So it's a petition to tell them you don't agree with their business decision? What's the point? I mean really, what are you trying to achieve? If you get a 1000 people to sign up, so what? Nothing is going to happen.

On the flip side, why not wait and see what the 2013 bikes are like before crying about 'badge engineering'? If it pisses you off that much, don't buy one, after all, that's the only real way people will get their message across.

People always bag changes out before they even tried them. How may people said the 70 degree engine was a stupid idea and now love it? Same for EFI, and CDI's before that and disc brakes before that.

whether or not it would have an effect on production, taffy's idea is valid in that it does let the management know that husaberg owners exist because they made a bike that was different and that we feel strongly their business plan is a mistake. can't hurt.
ford is still around, but mercury is gone.

You are right Ned
I'm not English, so can anyone make the bloody petition, so I can sign it.

The idea is that berg should keep some independence and keep using their heads, with good results like it happened in the past. And the berg customers buy them because of that different spirit and innovation.

My problem is not the end of the 70deg, it's the end of berg !!!

If after the 70deg it came a 60 or 90 or 45 deg or whatever, as long as it was berg.

Everyone that thinks that expressing your opinion it's stupid, just don't sign!!

As is said above, there is a irreversibly decision in Mattighofen. HSB will die this year, and KTM is the killer. I won't sign any petition, but i'll do another thing. When i sell my HSB, i'll go to another brand, like Sherco, o Yamaha. I feel bad, but i'll feel better with another brand.

RIP KTM 8)
