thanks Dale,
yes, I do enduro. Some of the tracks get wooped out like moto cross although single track. This bike is a 99 fe 600 E. With low fuel the bike handles well, but the suspension has needed work to stay with the pace as new bikes come on. I wish to keep this bike as I can apply the auxilary fuel tanks for long rides. On the long rides I do not worry about suspension as the focus is different. This 600 motor is particularly good in conditions that would suit a 250.
So far I have put the mx springs front and rear, and now......
The pds shock I am servicing ie changing oil, but also, I have obtained the stats for the 2000 model and intend simply to put the valving in and run with that improvement. I ruled out the 2001 as the piston rod and tube length were different. The 2000 model has a new needle and valving.
I will apply this and advise the outcome. I understand that pds has changed every year and for the bergs the 2000 was actually better than the 2001. I also understand that the 2006 will have a competely new design. The valving after 99 is more complicated in terms of the stack and other things (eg pressure ring).
The problem of course is that the shock moves through the high speed dampening to quickly and slowing it down using the clickers focuses on the slow speed dampening and some harshness due to hydrolic lock effect.
Any other views on the pds or an article on its workings would be appreciated.
Extra news is that the 2006 bergs will be something special but I have not detail apart from that, but based on that I expect some significant change, cannot imagine what it is though?
