Parting out a 650 - Everything must go!!!!

Hi all,

I am parting out my 2001 FS/FE650. I'm currently putting together a full list of all the parts to be sold and will post them up in the Classifieds shortly. I may go through e-bay but prefer not to.

The bike is currently in full working condition and fully road legal in the UK so may consider any offers for the complete bike.

However, otherwise I am willing to sell any part, however small. I do need this stuff to go quite quickly so prices will be favourable.

Many parts have extremely low hours on them, some are just out of the box.

I will ship worldwide.

If you're in the UK and need a part now, call me on 07970 022 627
Or e-mail me at sd(at)simondarnton(dot)com

Cheers,
Simon

Are you leaving the fold? Please say it ain't so!

You're not getting rid of me that easily Jason

I plan to keep my other 650 for the time being.

I just need to raise some cash to pay for lawyers and because I have only ridden for a total of 18miles in the last year, the previous year about 30, there's just no point holding on to it.

Cheers,
Simon

Wow, hardly any enquiries even though it's an entire bike being taken to bits?

Am I asking too much money for the parts when all of them are in good condition and from a fully working bike that has done 3 6 mile trips since a full blown complete rebuild? If so, why not make an offer?

Considering the number of posts we see with people asking for parts, I'm rather surprised, especially since I have no objection to shipping worldwide.

Since I've had such a poor response, I'm now starting to put the items onto E-bay.

Hi Simon,
Your prices seemed alittle high. If we all could part our bikes out for 7000-8000 USD none of us would be riding Bergs any more
Perhaps ebay is the best bet. It is there you will find the true market value. As far as making an offer, no one wants to be insulting :(
Just my opinion.

Cheers,
Ken

This is business Ken, offers are all part of it! I'm not going to take it personally and get insulted if someone offers me a stupid price for my parts, they might get a foxtrot oscar and come back with something sensible as a response mind you :D

You guys must pay some pretty good prices for bits over the other side of the pond, that's for sure

Personally, I think many of the bits are an absolute bargain - where would you get a complete clutch including inner and outer baskets along with almost brand new set of clutch plates (pressure and mating plates) for 150 quid? When I bought the full set of plates pressure and mating plates it cost me about 100 quid 8O

The other problem I suppose is the strength of the pound. Here in the UK for a new v1 GPR stabilizer prices start at £299 without a fitting kit which is the equivalent of just under $540 dollars your end!!!!! I believe you guys can get them from $375 dollars - shocking!

But as you say - things are only worth what someone will pay for them!

However, if anyone's interested in something, please feel welcome to make me an offer :)

Cheers,
Simon

How's that muffler project coming along?

Hi DaleEO,

Thanks for asking, I've added the latest update to the original thread here

so it's all kept in the same place.

Simon
