Just bought my first Berg on tuesday. It's going to be a project engine.Looking for parts fiches or diagrams of the engine and related parts. It's a '95 FE350, the engine has no spark and I'm not sure of what all it's missing(got it in a basket case). Are the parts available for this bike and where can I get them at? thanks for the help, Wade .

your stator has probably gone west. try and take readings on the wires with a multimeter.

red to black is 1750
green to black is 23

I and sparks can supply these.

I pulled the fly wheel off last night. It took a while to get it done, had to grind the first few threads off to get my puller in.They had hit it with a hammer and smashed the threads. The three bolts that hold the stator in had come loose, other than the mounting holes being oblonged it doesn't look bad.The flywheel looks worse from where the bolt heads have been beating on it.I'll ohm it out later tonight to see where it stands. The owner docs link on here just comes up with a white page and having trouble loading the flash player for the Husaberg site.
Next question is can I put the 501 cylinder and piston on this bottom end? Thanks for the info.

Ok just ohmed the stator and it's,
1503 red to black
23.7green to black
Good or bad ?????????
What size are the stator bolts? These have been beating around in there so long the threads are worn off smooth.

Hi

You have +/- 10%, but you are out, I think your bike will be virtually impossible to start with the kick. Maybe pulled by a truck it would start

Think about a rewind by sparks or a new OEM or one electrex/hpi stator. If you go to the last option let me know, to give you a help.

You might consider the most expensive solution (OEM) because you might need a new flywheel also, and as far as I know they are only sold together.

There is always eBay, you might try your luck.

Sorry about the no good news :(

Tomorrow will give you the size of the original screws of the stator, still have them somewhere.

About the 501 cylinder, sorry but can't help, but there are people here who can. I would not do it, I would try to make it original. Just one opinion.

 I think it will cost to much to put the bike back together. The plastic is trashed and they spray painted it flat black. What I was thinking about doing was putting the engine in my Cannondale quad chassis, sense the Cannondale is on my micro sprint car.I just couldn't let it lie there and die in the back of that boat shop, figured I could use the engine for something.

I've put a Husaberg in a cannondale chassis and it took hours upon hours of work. like 40 hours. the beam across the chassis is in the way of the carb so that has to be moved down so then you need a shorter shock. the left cover has to be flattened where the kickstart boss is so you have to rely 100% on the leccy boot.

the engine has to be positioned as far to the left as is humanly possible to do just to get the chain run right. #

pretty sure the stator has had it. like 95% sure. the only other explanation is faulty electrics but with such a low reading as well, well it all points to the stator is gone. best bet is to send that stator over for an exchange and I always cut a deal for a straight forwards card payment. I have a mark 1 in stock. the flywheel will be fine for a few years yet methinks.

How is the engine performance compared to the Cannondale. If it's going to be so much trouble to get it in the chassis then I'll take the Dale out of the car and put the Berg on it.The only issue I see there is over reving it,the Dale takes the constant rpms pretty good.

Taffy;
How much is the stator? I guess that is going to determine whether it stays or goes.

Hi

micro10 as promised, the screws of the stator are M5X30.

Just :( to see all these oldies become parts..

If the stator and flywheel that Taff is talking, are the ones that I've sold (ofered  ) to him, they are almost new, maybe 10 hours work.

Thanks for the bolt size,I'll try to get a couple on the way home from work tommorrow.
So far what I'm misssing is:
1- decompression mech from the head and cable
2-complete air box assembley
3- complete plastics including the fuel tank are thrashed
4- rear rim is thrashed
5-rear suspension linking has been broke and welded back together
6-The rest are little things (clutch assembley, throttle assembley, seat cover, handle bars,it's got new grips though)
I've been busy today taking it down just to see what I've got.If I can get the engine going then I might try putting it back together.thanks again for the info,Wade

don't worry about the decomp 'bar' in the head, manual, kick or whatever. get it running with a modern auto decomp instead and you'll never have to worry again.

the stator is 215gbp and if you use your card I'll post it for that but it is an EXCHANGE item as they aren't making anymore.

your bike may be worthless but they are being broken everywhere and chassis parts are plentiful use at present.

Taffy
