outer clutch cover gasket?

What is this made of? What appears to be on my bike now was just some liquid gasket gunk, not a "real" gasket at all. Or does this $8 gasket just melt into goo after a while?

Since I was in/out of the clutch so many times with the EXP2 tuning, I just left some goo on there, but want to seal it up right now.

The gasket is a stupid little Oring sort of thing that is realy hard :cuss: to fit into the groove in the cover.

Don't you use the thicker Rekluse gasket? Or was that just with my zstart pro?
 
The EXPs don't get a new gasket (or cool new clutch cover). I ordered a new stock gasket for $8 since I had to order a bunch of stuff anyway.
