Hello!
After driving my Husaberg home yesterday by rain, 10 °C 200KM, but with big smile under my helmet, :D I`m now also a proud Husaowner. Got it kicked on after trying a little bit yesterday and also today by cold temperatures, ha :)
Hard to put the Husa in the garage and leave.
A lot of questions of course, but maddel, an also german member here, helps me already very kind a lot of.
Now I want to put a picture of the exhaust here, so he or anyone else can help me eventuelly.
The exhaust is very loud and has a lot of misfire, like someone is shooting in the back… . It`s fine noise, but I want it a little bit softer.
It`s the original Husaberg exhaust i think, with Part-Number and the for europe`s street nessessary “eâ€Â

Hi Stefan,

Well, by the looks of your bike, at least as much as I can see, it's an 04 with the stock exhaust. It appears to me that it has not been modified. So here are a few suggestions.

If the bike is popping on deceleration, this can indicate a lean condtion, a simple solution would be to make sure the fuel adjusting screw is set properly, along with the correct pilot jet. Does this bike still have the stock jetting? And by the way, what bike do you have exactly?? Having the needle set too lean will also contribute to this problem, but, let's take one step at a time here. So, back to your muffler question.

Pull the muffler apart and make sure the packing is in good shape, as well as the "O" riing seals on both end caps.

With the muffler springs still attached, and the rear fender off, pull the the two mounting bolts off and make sure the muffler is seated all the way onto the collector. If your bike is an 04, it will have a ball and socket style of joint,(older KTM) where the muffler meets the collector. On my bike the mounting bracket for the muffler was off by 10mm, which did not allow the muffler socket to seat on the ball end of the collector, which resulted in an exhaust leak. I simply elongated the holes enough to make sure that the two seated together properly.

Finally, it might be a good idea to make sure that all of the exhuast joints including where the headers meet the cylinder, where the headers go into the collector, and the ball and socket joint have been sealed properly. Just pull everything apart and clean it thoroughly, and use a high quality silicone sealer such as Three Bond #1211. This stuff is expensive, but, well worth it. Be sure and apply the sealer liberally only to the male ends of the exhaust pieces so you get a good seal but don't end up with a ridge of sealer inside the exhaust. Wipe off the excess and let it dry for at least 24 hours, in at least 20 degress C.

Hope this helps,

if the tail outlet is 35mm diameter it is from a MX machine. the FE road and trail pipe is 25mm diameter.

i would consider having it repacked as dale suggests. otherwise i think the pipe is reasonable! you must be using it on the road...

Hello DaleEO,
Thanks a lot for your answer.
Sorry, I forgott to describe my Husa
It`s a FS650e from 2003, has 16 hours run only on street in 1 year.It looks very well and new, the dealer (KTM) knows the Husaowner before, says, that it`s all original and also it looks like.
This dealer is 200Km away, has not really knowledge of Husaberg, I noticed. The distance to the next Husa-dealer here in germany in my near is about 100Km…

Ok, I will test the tightness of the exhaust. I also think, that it is possible, that the carburet has to be controlled and adjust.
But I´m also distrust. It seems, that there is a little hole for a screw on the lower side of the exhaustend? And there are trace of Grinding to see??
Hm, is the silencer took out? How can I test ist? Possible to put in again without loosing the power?
Ok, now I´ve spend here about 1,5 hours to translate and write……. 8O , the sun is shining outside, I become nervous, cause it`s time to kick on my Husa and turn a little round…… :D
Stefan

the rivets can fall out and sometimes they are very loose also. so husaberg owners grind the rivetts off and begin again.

you must grind away all the rivets and check inside for all the wadding. renew this and then rivet it back up.

Try google language tools

If you type in German and translate to English it may work a bit faster for you thus increasing your riding time. :D

Hello and thanks for the left kelsow. This text is completely translated thereby. See well times, how it folds and whether I win more time to drive.... :)
Thanks Taffy. Hm, think, thus damming wool will be still ok. The diameter I measured times, am exactly 30 mm...... :?
Greeting, Stefan

Not to Hi-Jack your thread but....

I see your from Dortmund. My favorite beer ever is Ritter Brau Dark from Dortmund. I can't find that beer over here any more, Sure wish I could get my hands (or lips) on some. Good luck with your bike.

continuing the hijack......

there are a couple drinkable brews from up north (dortmund and such), but virtually all the really fine and flavorful brews are bavarian.
