Hello, I have just purchased a 2000 Husaberg FE501E from Arizona that was plated for street use a dual sport, went home to Oregon to get title changed and plates no go. The DMV wants to see the Federal Safety Standard Label, The VIN checked out, the Arizona title says nothing about off road use only. Oregon DMV says get a letter from the manufacture KTM ? Anyone in Oregon or other states find a solution for this? Thanks

Go to a different dmv in a dif town. Typ ore stupidity. FCS's its 23 years old, and all dmv wants is your money. I'm in ore and mine is a 99 fe600e got the title changed from cali 15 years ago. the label they want does not exist. go to different offices, will probly work and dont give any more info than they ask for. Good luck to you man.

You know if they could do this **** to this guy then they have to demand this of every old car, truck, old BSA or other Brit bike, boat, Yamaha, Honda, Harley or anything that rolls clear back to 1900. I have lived in Oregon for 68 years and I dearly love the country BUT the wannabe tyrants up north have always screwed the public on anything to make a buck.

I guess let this be a warning to others who think its been "plated" out of state does not mean Oregon will honor the status of the vehicle, I need an argument that says Husaberg did not import enough units to fall under the fed safety standard code, something of that nature, I OVERHEARD the DMV agents comparing the bike to a baja bug home built contraption kit.

Redmond, usually no problems. I think because it was from another state they looked at it close. It would be interesting to see what this sticker/label looks like or if they exist.

My Berg had no sticker or evidence of one. Sounds like you ran into a couple of old postal employees. Try another town, here in GP we used to go to Ashland if needed. I don't know if you could get a letter from KTM or whoever. The dmv here has 6 computer stations manned by no more than two persons at any time.

Last time I was down in La Pine I saw all sorts of plated dirt bikes and other off-road vehicles that were more off than on road oriented

Maybe give the office down there a try and see how that shakes out

WOW!!! I am impressed... Everybody with this problem needs to know this. so what did he make for you, the sticker you needed ?

He has the ability to create duplicate stickers that are missing, I did not or could not show him the correct sticker he was able to take a rough drawing of what I thought it may look like and he created the sticker. Very profesional.
