hello guys!!!
i need camshaft for my berg!
my question is...can i put camshaft from 501(01,02,03) or 550 in my 450 cylinder head???I will appreciate your help!
!!

2001-2002
400 has '01' cam
470/550 have the '53' cam
501 has the '55' cam which is the 53 cam re-phased by 5 degrees so that the tiuming is only right on a 501 and out by 5d on everything else.

2003
400 has '01' cam
470/550 have the '53' cam
501 has the '55' cam which is the 53 cam re-phased by 5 degrees so that the tiuming is only right on a 501 and out by 5d on everything else.
650 has the '08' cam

2004-2008
450/550/650
all have the '08' cam

the 53 cam does fit and is a torque monster but it is very damaging over time to the valve gear. If I was fitting a 53 cam to a 450 I would defo get a DVSK kit. 100% everytinme. then I might consider it.

as for is it any good well i actually think it could be VERY GOOD. the 450 is a buzzbomb but the 53 cam would let you short shift more.

gearing will be vital.

regards

Taffy

I am talking about the "01" cam here (have no experience with the "53" and "55" cam): the camshaft will probably not fit, will be long. you would have to take away cca 1mm somewhere, either on the head, on the bearing(s) or on the camshaft. so it is a problem, but has solution. In terms of timing and such its not problem. I have now camshaft from 650 in my head, no problem. If you want almost new camshaft from 650 2008 (with less than 1 hour on it), I can sell you one for a very good price.
