ok... i got my 06 fe450e, put almost an hour on it and changed the oil. put almost another hour on it, and today went for a long ride, probably about three hours. when i got back i washed her up and dumped the oil. and look what was on the end of my plug!!! i'm craping my pants!!! bike's got 1107 miles on it now btw. bike ran great the whole time. no loss of power, or weird noises or anything like that. that's a U.S. penny btw... :(

well anyways... there were a lot less shavings on the oil plug, and oil screen than on the first oil change, but there was a huge chip on the end of the plug this time. about 3/16 of an inch by 1/8 inch, 1/16 thick... black on the smooth sides...maybe a chip off the clutch basket? looks like it came from something big around and very thin... any ideas???

Go into the "gallery" forum and ask the all knowing, and all power schwim for a gallery. Then you'll be able to upload them to your gallery.

Runs good sounds good, whats the problem. Welcome to the world of swarf in the oil.....it's a Berg thing. I had an 04 and never checked the magnet until I sold it. I currently have 2 06's, not gonna check the magnet without a reason. I dont want to see it and dont wanna know. I have been down that road before. Stripped the motor and found NOTHING wrong, put it back together and it's still running after 5 years.

Personnaly, if it runs and sounds good and the metal is unidentifiable, I'm not worried about it. I would clean it up and keep an eye on it for a few oil changes. For all you know, the last guy may have never checked it.

What...metal on your drain plug magnet from a Husaberg!!! ( Shirley :D ) it must have come from that last bottle of Delo you used. Those guy's at Chevron are not to be trusted.

jaryrigged, take a look at the size of the pics you're trying to upload. they're prolly too big. resize them to less than 1200x1200.
my 02 650 sounds like a chainsaw, and the oil is immaculate. go figure. listen to berger.

thanks, my ol'ady's gonna down size the pic for me later. i wouldn't be so concerned if it were a shaving, but this bugger is a chip off a' somethin'... only runnin' motorex btw. my m.o. is if i can't maintain it properly i can't ride it! i've waited far too long for my husy!!! no compromises!!! thanks for all the advice guys, it's priceless!!!

Personnaly I dont think I would worry about it just yet. Just keep an eye on it for awhile.
